Day 2 of Electric 50 followed a similar pattern to the first day although witha few differences. At the start of the day there were a further two photo opportunities with the first of these being at Victoria Park and featuring the three visiting trams: Blackpool & Fleetwood 40, Newcastle 114 and Blackpool 711. Once this was finished 114 then returned to the depot fan where photo opp two of the day was to take place: Trams of the North East. This again saw 114 united with Newcastle 102 and also featured Gateshead 5, Sheffield 74 and MET 331 (the latter two of which ended their working lives in the north east). After these line-ups were over with an intensive tram service again started with 15 trams in service during the morning including the visitors and also Blackpool 762 having been repaired. Again around lunchtime the service started to be wound down as preparations commenced for the Cavalcade which would this time be looking at the development of the tram. As with the previous days Cavalcade Blackpool & Fleetwood 2 was in front with Blackpool 711 at the back of the 25 planned trams although just because a Cavalcade with 25 trams isn't hard enough to plan there were an additional two vehicles at the back in the form of works cars Cardiff 131 and Sheffield 330 making a very impressive 27 tram Cavalcade. Even before all of the Cavalcade had made its way to Town End the service resumed and another 15 trams formed this during the afternoon. As with the previous day the works cars were also out on the mainline with 131 and 330 joined by the Blackpool Electric Locomotive meaning that 28 different trams saw use on this day. This collection of photos gives you a flavour of all this and more during the second day of Electric 50.
