Gallery 465: Beside the Seaside - Crich Tramway Village May 2014

Between 24th May and 1st June the Crich Tramway Village hosted a nine day event: "Beside the Seaside". This event was primarily aimed at the family market, as it encompassed the Spring Bank Holiday weekend, although there was also enough to keep the tram enthusiast happy, particularly over that Bank Holiday weekend. Probably the tram highlight was the entry into service of on loan Blackpool Balloon 711 which saw extensive use until it decided to take down some of the overhead at Town End towards the end of the week. We start off this collection of photos on the first day of the event as we follow 711 around the site before we fast forward to Saturday 31st May. On this second day we have a three tram service utilising Blackpool trams 166 and 236 and Southampton 45 and we also include other images from around the Museum including at the depot and in the Great Exhibition Hall.

Photographs in this collection were taken by David Beardsell, Gareth Prior & Hazel Quarmby
