Gallery 464: Manchester Metrolink T68s Farewell Tour - 26th May 2014

On 26th May 2014 the end of an era was reached on Manchester Metrolink when a farwell tour for the T68s operated. Using vehicles 1007 and 1016 the tour visited Eccles, MediaCityUK, Bury, Heaton Park and Altrincham for photostops before returning to Piccadilly Station where the tour ended and the two LRVs made their way back to Queens Road Depot one last time. The stop at Heaton Park was also saw a key milestone as the first second generation vehicle - 1007 - to enter preservation was officially handed over to the Heaton Park Tramway at a special ceremony. This collection of photos includes images from throughout the day with all photostops featured as well as other photos as the LRVs made their way around Greater Manchester one last time. As this was a charity tour British Trams Online has made a small donation to both The Christie and Francis House Children's Hospice.

Photographs in this collection were taken by Keith Chadbourne, Dave Evans, Steve Hyde, Steve Kemp, Ralph Oakes-Garnett, Neil Simpson, Ken Walker
