The annual Great North Steam Fair - part of the Great North Festival of Transport - took place at Beamish: The Living Museum of the North between 10th and 13th April with an excellent mix of vintage transport across the museum site. Obviously with this being British Trams Online the main focus of our attention was the trams with Blackpool 167 and Blackpool 280 both currently on loan at Beamish and these both feature heavily in this collection alongside fellow Blackpool cars 31 and "Sunderland 101", the four of which operated the service on both Friday 11th and Saturday 12th April, the two days on which these photos were taken. But as always with major transport events at Beamish this gallery also shows the other transport around the Museum (in fact its only now writing this introduction that I realise there are more photos of non-trams that trams!) on both the railways and road to give a true flavour why these events are amongst the best transport events in the UK, if not the best!
