Gallery 451: Metrolink Rochdale Town Centre extension opens

The Manchester Metrolink extension in Rochdale Town Centre welcomed its first passengers on Monday 31st March when M5000 3049 operated the first service to and from the terminus by the new bus station which will be known as Rochdale Town Centre. Services run every 12 minutes to and from East Didsbury with a few services operated by double M5000s due to high demand during the peaks. This collection includes images of the very first services as well as a few more later on in the day.
