Gallery 433: The changing face of Midland Metro

The end of 2013 will go down in the history books as the start of a major period of change for the Midland Metro system as noticeable progress started to be made on the construction of the Birmingham city centre extension and the first of the fleet of 20 CAF built Urbos 3 trams was delivered to the depot at Wednesbury. This collection of photos is mainly taken around the depot area and shows the delivery of the first two of the Urbos 3 trams as well as some of the first tentative movements of 17 both within the depot and also just outside the gates. Also included are a few shots of 11 in its Birmingham Corporation inspired livery and we also take a look at some of the original T69 trams at the depot.

Photographs in this collection were taken by Andy Walters
