Even the icon of the Blackpool Tramway was not safe from the mass "mothball" of December 2004, with 704, 716 and 717 having already been stored further examples were stored with at some stage in the winter 703, 708 and 722 being put out of service. However only 708 remains out of service with the other two now being reguarly used on service - 722 was only reinstated because of an oversubscription of advertisign contracts. Of the others 713 is nearing the completion of its major overhaul and has been testing on the Prom (although was not seen during my holiday) 724 was not used in service at all during the week, all others made at least one appearance out.

Balloon 710. Still in the Metro Coastlines Purple & Yellow livery it is seen at Bold Street on 6 September 2005.
Balloon 711. Lambrini at Branningans is the subject of this new all over advert on 711 which is seen at Bold Street on 6 September 2005. It is a double sided advert and says "I'd rather ride a donkey" on this side...
Balloon 711...and on this side says "The best ride in Town".
