Gallery 318: Glasgow 50/Enthusiast's Tram Weekend at Crich 2012
The main enthusiast's event at Crich in 2012 took place over the weekend of 15th and 16th September and it turned out to be one of the best events held at the Museum for a number of years. The main focus of the event was commemorating 50 years since the last tram routes closed in Glasgow and this meant that Glasgow 1282 was resurrected for the weekend only whilst Paisley 68 was returned to its identity of Glasgow 1068 and was painted in the blue Glasgow route livery, this too was used in passenger service. There was also a rare opportunity to see all five Glasgow route colours together in one line-up and this involved Glasgow 1115 being displayed outside for the first time in many years. Away from Glasgow there were other currently withdrawn trams displayed around the Depot with the highlights of these being Brussels Snow Broom 96 on the Saturday and then New York 674 on the Sunday. In addition there were numerous trams in passenger service and Sheffield 330 and Cardiff 131 were also out on the main line offering passengers rides! In fact there was so much going on this box would grow to massive levels if all of it was mentioned but a full report is now available. Photographs in this gallery were taken by Gareth Prior on 15th & 16th September 2012.

British Trams Online is an enthusiast run website for enthusiasts. It should be able to be viewed at all screen resolutions but I do advise you that it is probably best at 1024x768. The site is owned, maintained (and in the main written) by Gareth Prior. Any comments or suggestions please email.
