On Sunday 8th July 2012, Crich Tramway Village paid tribute to London's rich tramway heritage, just a few days after the sixtieth anniversary of the closure of the city's first generation tram system. The event featured London Transport 1622, decorated with 'Last Tram Week' banners and other embellishments, operating along with Metropolitan 331 and Croydon Tramlink 058, whilst London County Council 106 and the newly restored London United Tramways 159 were displayed in the depot yard. The latter car had been launched into service on the previous day but due to an unfortunate incident it was unable to fulfill its intended role on this day. However, there were still plenty of interesting photo opportunities during the course of the day, and some of the highlights are featured in this gallery. All photos taken by Tony Waddington.
