Gallery 278: Blackpool Tramway End of an Era - Friday 4th November 2011
This is the third of five photo collections from the last few days of traditional tramway operation in Blackpool before the full Supertram upgrade is introduced at Easter 2012. In this gallery are images from Friday 4th November with the continuation of the single deck daytime/double deck evening service. Noted in service on this day were Brush Cars 631 and 632, Centenary Cars 642, 644 (daytime service and evening specials), 646, 647 and 648, Illuminated Trawler 737 (in use on service during the day and then on Illumination Tour duty), Balloon Cars 709, 713, 718, 719 and 720. Two TDEs operated during the day with Twin Car 672+682 and Twin Car 675+685/Balloon 717 in use and of course all three Illuminated Cars were in use on tours in the evening.
