On Sunday 8th November, a special event took place at the Heaton Park Tramway, Manchester, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the closure of Leeds City Tramways. All four trams at the park were operated, including Manchester L53 which was partly repainted in Leeds colours, to represent one of three Eades reversible horse trams that ran in that city. Other highlights during the day included a procession of Leeds vehicles from Middleton Road to the tram depot, rides around the park on a preserved Leeds bus, and a parallel run at the end of the afternoon. This was another superb event from the volunteers at Heaton Park which seemed to be greatly enjoyed by everyone present, despite the competition from 'Farewell to Fleetwood'.
