Blackpool Trackwork January 2008
The major trackwork being undertaken in Blackpool during the winter period 2007/8 has been continuing in the opening few weeks of 2008. There are four main worksites in operation - Pleasure Beach, Manchester Square-Central Pier, Gynn Square-Norbreck and Little Bispham - and on the next couple of pages we have six images from Bispham, Gynn Square and Central Pier from the camera of Paul Galley. As ever to access other pages of the photos use the links at either the top or bottom of the page.

A view at Bispham station itself with piles of sleepers and the stripped trackbed.
Moving on to Central Pier and a look at the excavated trackbed, lots of machinery and ballast. The date is 12th January 2008.
A final view at Bispham on 14th January 2008 with old wooden sleepers piled up and a workman attempting to pump the excess water out of the trackbed.
