METROLINK NEWS ROUND-UP
Manchester Metrolink – Sunday 21st December 2008

A brief news round-up from Manchester Metrolink. Included is news of new window ads on a few trams and news of the vegetations removal on the Smedley Viaduct.

* Following the rejection of the Congestion Charge and the associated TIF money all the advertising for this has been removed. Some of the trams have received adverts in the same position for “Try the Tram” with phrases like “Traffic Free” and “Parking Free”. This has been noted on 1006, 1013 and 1018 so far.

* The work to clear the disused track bed on the Smedley Road viaduct has been completed. The vegetation has been cut down to leave a short stubble, but has not exposed any ballast which may still be there.

British Trams Online is an enthusiast run website for enthusiasts. It should be able to be viewed at all screen resolutions but I do advise you that it is probably best at 1024x768. The site is owned, maintained (and in the main written) by Gareth Prior. Any comments or suggestions please email.
