FORTHCOMING DLR IMPROVEMENT WORK UPDATE
Docklands Light Railway – Sunday 14th December 2008

We take our regular look at the forthcoming improvement works on the Docklands Light Railway which may interrupt your journey’s over the coming weeks and months. The majority of the work taking place is to do with the programme to enable three car trains to operate on the entire network by 2010.

Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st December 2008
Canary Wharf to Lewisham. Canary Wharf to Stratford (Saturday 20th only)
Services will be suspended between Canary Wharf and Lewisham on the weekend of 20th & 21st December and between Canary Wharf and Stratford on Saturday 20th December. Replacement bus services will operate on the affected routes.

Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th January 2009
Bank to Mudchute/Poplar and Poplar to Mudchute. Stratford to Poplar (Sunday 18th only)
Services will be suspended between Bank and Mudchute/Poplar and Polar to Mudchute on the weekend of 17th & 18th January and between Stratford and Poplar on Sunday 18th January. Replacement bus services will operate on the affected routes.

Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th January 2009
Westferry to Canning Town
Services will be suspended between Westferry and Canning Town throughout the weekend. Replacement bus services will operate on the affected route.

Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th February 2009
Bank to West India Quay/Poplar
Services will be suspended between Bank and West India Quay/Poplar throughout the weekend. Replacement bus services will operate on the affected route.

Saturday 21st & Sunday 22nd March 2009
Westferry to Beckton/Woolwich Arsenal
Services will be suspended between Westferry and Beckton/Woolwich Arsenal throughout the weekend. Replacement bus services will operate on the affected routes.

Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th March 2009
Westferry to Canning Town
Services will be suspended between Westferry and Canning Town throughout the weekend. Replacement bus services will operate on the affected routes.

Tower Gateway station remains closed but the project is currently running ahead of schedule and the remodelled station should be ready for reopening in February 2009.

The small extension of the line from King George V to Woolwich Arsenal under the river is still scheduled for opening in “early 2009” – believed to be some when in January.
