TRAM SUNDAY 2009 WILL GO AHEAD Fleetwood Tram Sunday (or Fleetwood Transport Festival if you prefer) will go ahead in 2009 after people pledged their support at a meeting held last week. Approximately 20 people volunteered to help with the event and a further meeting will take place on 12th January 2009 to allocate jobs for these volunteers.
Keith Yates, Chairman of the event, said: “We have a festival for 2009. I am elated. Until tonight I was disappointed with the response from the town – we have had two people in the last month offering support. I was beginning to feel this was a Fleetwood event that Fleetwood doesn't really want. I was feeling disillusioned but tonight's turnout has been terrific. Everyone is up for it. We have a fair few obstacles in front of us but we will be making the 25th festival the biggest and the best."
Wyre Borough Council have also pledged their support and they will be helping with the publicity as organisation of the event is now behind schedule.

| British Trams Online is an enthusiast run website for enthusiasts. It should be able to be viewed at all screen resolutions but I do advise you that it is probably best at 1024x768. The site is owned, maintained (and in the main written) by Gareth Prior. Any comments or suggestions please email. |
