DEVELOPER WITHDRAWS NET PHASE TWO OBJECTION
Nottingham Express Transit – Sunday 16th December 2007

Miller Birch, the developers of ng2, one of Nottingham’s biggest business parks, have withdrawn their objection to Phase Two of Nottingham Express Transit.

One of the proposed line of NET would run through the middle of ng2 and the objection was the way the overhead line equipment would be fitted to the buildings. However, following discussions between the developers and Miller Birch a solution has now been found.

Mark Bielby, development director of Miller Birch, said: “NET phase two will run through the centre of ng2 along Enterprise Way forming fast and efficient connections to the railway station, The University of Nottingham, QMC and Beeston. Connectivity will not only allow our occupiers, visitors and staff to access ng2 quickly, it will provide a sustainable alternative to car travel. This will keep Nottingham at the forefront for promoting and delivering an integrated public transport network which sets the standards."

Following their withdrawal of the objection Miller Birch will no longer be giving evidence at the Public Inquiry.
