MIDLAND METRO FARES REVISED FROM 2ND JANUARY 2008
Midland Metro – Sunday 23rd December 2007

Midland Metro fares are to be revised from 2nd January 2008 with Travelcard prices being frozen, in order to try and encourage people to use the trams regularly.

Phil Bateman, Corporate Affairs Director, said: “There are very good reasons for regular metro users to switch to Metro Travelcards. This is because they are not only good value but it really does ‘Make Travel Simpler’.

The travelcard prices remain as follows:
Adult 1 week Travelcard - £13.50
Adult 4 week Travelcard - £44
Adult 52 week Travelcard - £471
Adult monthly direct debit - £39.25
Child 1 week Travelcard - £6.75
Child 4 week Travelcard - £22

Other fares will rise from January with Off Peak Returns increasing by 10p and Peak Returns by 20p. Single fares will increase by a maximum of 20p. Day Metro and Bus tickets will rise by 15p to £4.60 with a child version now coming in at £3.05.

In addition a new family of tickets will be introduced – the Metro Daytripper which will only be valid on the trams. An Adult version will cost £4 and a child one is £3. These will be valid after 0930 weekdays, but will not be available at the weekends or on Bank Holidays.

* Full details of the revised fares is available here.
