BRUSH 626 & BOAT 605 FOR BIRKENHEAD? The latest issue of the Merseyside Tramway Preservation Society Newsletter reveals the news that one of the four trams purchased by Merseytravel for the proposed extension of the Wirral Heritage Tramway is to be Brush 626. In addition talks have been taking place between Merseytravel and the Lancastrian Transport Trust over the loan of Boat 605.
626 is expected to remain in Blackpool in use until the end of the 2011 season being a refurbished example and once surplus to requirements in its home town is reported to be heading to East Lanacashire Coachbuilders for a full refurbishment – despite the fact it was fully overhauled in the 1990s.
The Lancastrian Transport Trust are believed to have agreed in principle to 605 heading to Birkenhead but it is not known when the deal will be concluded.

| British Trams Online is an enthusiast run website for enthusiasts. It should be able to be viewed at all screen resolutions but I do advise you that it is probably best at 1024x768. The site is owned, maintained (and in the main written) by Gareth Prior. Any comments or suggestions please email. |
