WOLVERHAMPTON METRO SERVICES TO BE DISRUPTED – OR NOT?
Midland Metro – Sunday 17th August 2008

Midland Metro services are due not to operate into Wolverhampton St Georges tram stop for four weeks between Saturday 30th August and Sunday 28th September. This is to allow pre-planned work to paint the Wishbone Bridge which is situated on the island where the Metro crosses Wolverhampton Ring Road.

Between Saturday 30th August and Tuesday 2nd September all trams will terminate at Priestfield tram stop with a dedicated bus service operating between Priestfield and Wolverhampton St Georges. Normal services will continue to operate Priestfield-Birmingham Snow Hill.

From Wednesday 3rd September services will be extended to The Royal tram stop with the dedicated bus only running between here and St Georges. Throughout the work Metro tickets and passes will be accepted on both the dedicated bus and also National Express West Midlands services between Wolverhampton and Priestfield.

Well, that is the plan but according to the Wolverhampton Express and Star the work has been delayed and no new date has yet been set. No official confirmation has been given on whether the work is not taking place.

British Trams Online is an enthusiast run website for enthusiasts. It should be able to be viewed at all screen resolutions but I do advise you that it is probably best at 1024x768. The site is owned, maintained (and in the main written) by Gareth Prior. Any comments or suggestions please email.
