WESTERN TRAIN STARTS TESTING
Blackpool & Fleetwood Tramway – Sunday 19th April 2009

Another milestone has been reached in the restoration of Blackpool Illuminated Western Train 733+734, with its first test runs on the Blackpool and Fleetwood Tramway on Wednesday 15th April. This was the first time the tram had been out of the depot confines since the end of the 1999 illuminations season and is the culminations of a major restoration funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. 733+734’s debut is likely to be in May with further appearances before the start of the 2009 Illuminations in September.

And here it is! Western Train 733+734 seen during its first test run after restoration on the Little Bispham loop on Wednesday 15th April 2009. I think it would be fair to see this will not be the last time this particular tram features on British Trams Online this year!

British Trams Online is an enthusiast run website for enthusiasts. It should be able to be viewed at all screen resolutions but I do advise you that it is probably best at 1024x768. The site is owned, maintained (and in the main written) by Gareth Prior. Any comments or suggestions please email.
