Any visitors to the Crich Tramway Village – home of the National Tramway Museum – can now return to visit as many times as they like in 12 months for absolutely nothing! This is providing they have said yes to Gift Aid on entrance and is part of the new Gift Aid scheme being run at the Museum.
Visitors pay for admission at their first visit of the year to the Museum and will be asked at the entrance whether they wish to “Gift Aid”. Contact details will be taken but this information will be treated as strictly confidential.
As the Crich Tramway Village is a charity it qualifies for Gift Aid which is a scheme where it can claim back the tax on donations and gifts that are made to it. Under the scheme admission fees from UK taxpayers can be treated as gifts – they are worth 28p in the pound to Crich.
Cara Marchant, Marketing Manager, said: “The Government wants to help us develop and grow, and this is an excellent scheme which will enable us to do so - everyone wins! One of the most frequently heard comments from visitors is that they didn't have enough time to fully explore the Village and its many features. Now they can return to complete their exploration - and at no extra cost!"
The only limitation to return visits is that 5 special events are excluded (although a list of these events are not actually provided on the Crich website).
